Frequently Asked Questions

What does ASP mean?

An application service provider (ASP) is a business that provides computer-based services to customers over a network. Software offered using an ASP model is also sometimes called On-demand software or software as a service (SaaS). The most limited sense of this business is that of providing access to a particular application program (such as medical billing) using a standard protocol such as HTTP.

The need for ASPs has evolved from the increasing costs of specialized software that have far exceeded the price range of small to medium sized businesses. As well, the growing complexities of software have led to huge costs in distributing the software to end-users. Through ASPs, the complexities and costs of such software can be cut down. In addition, the issues of upgrading have been eliminated from the end-firm by placing the onus on the ASP to maintain up-to-date services, 24 x 7 technical support, physical and electronic security and in-built support for business continuity and flexible working.

Why should I use e-Scan?

Federal regulations such as HIPAA, Gramm Leach Bliley and FACTA demand the protection and the limited access to confidential files.  Along with record storage and paper shredding, scanning (a form of digitizing) is now part of a professional document management solution.  Our system is built on open-architecture

Is it easy to e-Scan?

What is a Virtual Filing Cabinet?

An intuitive folder tree structure, eminently usable for anyone who has used Windows Explorer, allows emulation of existing, preferred filing systems already familiar to users.

Who can access my data?

Comprehensive security measures safeguard digital files with individualized protective measures for specific documents. Individuals will be assigned different levels of access and security as directed. Original documents can be removed or destroyed. Digital backups are safely stored off-site.

Will this reduce my storage costs?

Maintaining, moving and protecting paper and microform records are expensive tasks. Disaster and theft threaten the integrity of the archives. Photocopying for off-site storage is labor-intensive and costly. With our solution, location of document data is fully configurable and can be stored on any network volume in non-proprietary TIFF and ASCII file formats. Data is securely stored on our remote server.
